Flash on Mobile Devices explosion
Flash on Mobile Devices surpassed Flash on Desktop according to Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen:
“We are shipping Flash on more mobile devices than on PCs. We ship more than 800 million on devices. We expect that to hit 1 billion. We hope we can create the next generation of innovation. We hope that you will join us. If we do that together as an industry, everyone wins. The carriers, the handset manufacturers and creative professionals all win, and so do the consumers.”
Earlier this year, Adobe had stated they were estimated to make 1 billion devices by 2009. My guess is that they will reach this amount of devices without a doubt. According to Alessandro’s post a while ago, saying 90% of these non-pc devices are smartphones, this means that in few months there will be more Flash Lite enabled phones then Flash on computers! Quite an amazing conclusion in my honest opinion.
