Wim Vanhenden at the Actionfield Gallery, Brussels

with 2 comments

Wim Vanhenden, one of my dear colleagues at Boulevart, is presenting his Internet Artwork at the Actionfield Gallery in Brussels from 10/10 till 30/10. Actionfields was launched in 2007. The Temporary Art Gallery Started in 2008 and is an initiative of Vincent Verbist. Actionfields encourages artists in their art practices, explorations and experimentation by offering them an alternative place to show their work in the famous Marollen in the heart of Brussels. Each month Actionfields will show work of a different artists.

In Oktober it’s up to Wim presenting Internet Artwork he developed. 3 works presenting what’s behind the world wide web and its invisible activities.

In We are the world ,Wim is displaying hundreds of words every minute, projected on a black background. They are coming directly from internet users using search engines all across the world, thinking they are safe behind their computer screen at home.

The Interpreter uses text from novels or songs and translates it to an image gallery based on Google Images results.

In The Participator you get to know the erotic side of the internet, the world of online pornography with the shocking conclusion you find you’re self right in the middle of it!
